Group session

Group Virtual Session

This virtual group session combines ancient pranayama techniques with modern neuroscience, guided by certified SOMA Breath® facilitators and synchronized to custom-composed brainwave entrainment music. SOMA Breath® harnesses rhythmic breathing and intermittent hypoxia (safe, controlled breath retentions) to rebalance your nervous system and expand your awareness.

What to Expect

Arrival & GroundingWe begin with a brief orientation to cover posture, safety guidelines, and the mechanics of the session. You'll set a personal intention and settle into a quiet, comfortable space.
Rhythmic BreathingMoving to high-energy, euphoric beats, you'll engage in continuous circular breathing. This rhythmic pattern increases tissue oxygenation, shifts your nervous system into parasympathetic dominance, and calms an overactive mind.
Breath Retention (Kumbhaka)Following each breathing cycle, you'll transition into peaceful breath holds on an exhale. These brief pauses trigger beneficial cellular adaptation, boost nitric oxide production, and unlock profound stillness and deep meditative states.
Guided Visualization & IntegrationThe journey concludes with guided somatic relaxation, allowing your mind and body to integrate the experience, leaving you feeling centered, vibrant, and clear.

Benefits

Participants frequently report immediate stress relief, heightened mental clarity, enhanced mood, elevated energy, and a deep sense of connection to themselves and the group.

What You Need

  • A quiet space where you won't be disturbed.
  • A yoga mat, blanket, or comfortable place to lie down flat. Or if sitting is preferred.
  • Headphones are preferred for optimal audio experience. Eye covers also recommended.
  • An open mind. No prior breathwork experience is required.

Safety & Cautions

Slow, rhythmic breathing techniques are generally safe for most people. Breath holds should NOT be practiced in any of the following cases: recent surgery, epilepsy, pregnancy in the third trimester, serious heart conditions (e.g. pacemaker, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or recent heart attack).

In most other cases, the practice is considered safe.

We invite you to listen to your body, reduce the intensity if needed, or skip breath holds at any time.

⚠️

Safety: Always practice seated or lying down. Never in water, never while driving.

Age Restrictions

You must be at least 11 years of age to take part in SOMA Breath® classes, and anyone under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
